I'm Mariel. My style is caught somewhere between a prepster obsession with plaid and the hard hitting trends of the big city. Employee at kate spade new york HQ, Astoria resident, big fan of the internet (I also blog at mariel and matt and mariellie.) All opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Rainbow Brights

Jen & Kevin’s engagement party!  Lindsey’s old roommate Jen is getting hitched this fall so we celebrated this very adult milestone with lots of drinking and an extremely competitive girls vs boys game of Scene It.  (The one answer I got was a guess-the-movie-based-on-stills of Marie Antoinette.  Give me only questions based on costuming and I might have a chance at that game).

The Outfit…

Abstract Floral Dress (worn as top) - Taylor via Syms

Green Satin Skirt - To the Max, gift

Turquoise Belt - thrifted

Lizard Handbag - vintage, thrifted

Coral and Magenta Satin Slingbacks - Nine West

I tried this outfit on as a whim just because the colors worked well together.  I didn’t think it would work since there is a rather large ruffle on the bottom of the dress.  Since the skirt flares so much, the ruffle isn’t noticable, so it was a go!  Such a happy, summery look.
