hey

I'm Mariel. My style is caught somewhere between a prepster obsession with plaid and the hard hitting trends of the big city. Employee at kate spade new york HQ, Astoria resident, big fan of the internet (I also blog at mariel and matt and mariellie.) All opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

This outfit was inspired by a really similar one that fellow blogger Tanya wore way back in November. When her photos popped up on my Google reader, I immediately thought of my own black and metallic skirt, and vowed to recreate the look. This is why I love reading fashion blogs - in an ideal world, flipping through Vogue magazine, I would be able to pick out items I own and style myself off of the editorials, but isn’t seeing the clothes on real girls in their real lives so much better?
