10 February 10

Bracelet Sleeves

CIMG3199

Tuesday, February 9

Worn to work and to run to the grocery store.  All I wanted was to make Kate’s vegetarian white bean soup, but everyone else was preparing for the blizzard that’s supposed to hit NY.  According to the people around me in line, one should stock up on cupcakes, sodas in various flavors, family sized boxes of chicken nuggets, and cigarettes.  Hmmm.  Anyway, the soup is delish (as I expected) and super easy.  It could become a permanent part of my winter menu.

This poet sleeved blouse is a difficult item to wear, mostly because the voluminous sleeves seem to prohibit any kind of layering over it.  Today I decided to do it anyway, because the split complementary color scheme was too good to pass up.  I ended up with these little poofs of fabric at my wrists (either that or Michelin Man arms if I pushed up the sleeves).  They look a bit like bracelets so I decided it was a happy addition to the outfit.  Does it work or is it weird?
