Evolving Influence: The Bloggers

Isn’t this the most adorbs picture of BryanBoy and Tavi?
The best part of the IFB Conference on Monday was most definitely the bloggers. I feel so lucky to have been welcomed into this community and Monday felt like a big reunion, even though I hadn’t met many of the attendees in person until that day. Here’s some of the lovely bloggers I met (and the ones that got away…)
After the last panel ended, we walked upstairs to find the lobby area (a blogger lounge by day) transformed into a cocktail party. The hors d’oeuvres table was piled with delicious snacks and the wine was flowing. And then I had a minor panic attack. I was staring (down) at Scott Schuman, The Sartorialist himself. Cool, but whatever, I’ve seen him around the city before. I had bigger concerns. I turned to Becky and said, “If Garance is here, I will pee myself.” And there she was, across the room, deep in conversation with an equally well heeled woman. (As a disclaimer, I surprisingly kept all bodily functions under control.)
And so begins the internal monologue. GAH, I have to meet her! She is one of my imaginary best friends. I mean, that piece she wrote about how some of the greatest friendships were born from a pair of pumps? She’s like my very own philosophical guru. But wait, I can’t interrupt her! That would be rude. And what would I say? OMG I LOVE YOU? That’s coming on too strong. I can’t fangirl in front of my potential future best friend. But I didn’t come prepared with questions; I had no idea she would be here. This is too much to handle.
Before I knew it, I was a witness (and crappy paparazzi-style photographer) to the Meeting of the Minds or something.
You don’t just barge into that trio. And just like that, she was gone. Don’t worry, Garance, we are destined to be friends, so our paths will cross again. I think I should take your advice and just comment on your shoes. They were bangin’, after all.
Back to the real world! Becky and I were finally able to snap a photo together after hanging out allllllll day. When we ran into Suz, we told her how we originally found each other on Weardrobe, discovered from our blogs that we lived in the same neighborhood, and then became real life friends! Love it.
I got to meet the fabulous Lei Ann, who was seriously rocking her Glamourai necklace AND a totally amazing Chanel temporary tattoo.
I ended my night with these three lovely ladies, Stephanie, Sara and Bianca. Love the stripes, floral, and leather!
My lack of photographs is depressing, because I met so many wonderful people! I am just kicking myself that I didn’t take a picture with Ariel (who was wearing the gorgeous Julie Haus coat featured in her blog header), Jessica, Breck, Ritu, or any of the other bloggers I got to chat with. Needless to say, I CAN’T WAIT for the next IFB event. Thanks so much Jennine and everyone else who worked so hard to put it on!
