hey

I'm Mariel. My style is caught somewhere between a prepster obsession with plaid and the hard hitting trends of the big city. Employee at kate spade new york HQ, Astoria resident, big fan of the internet (I also blog at mariel and matt and mariellie.) All opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Sweet

Wednesday, June 22. Worn to work.

Jean Jacket - Theory, thrifted / Tank - LOFT / Skirt - Rodarte for Target {used to be a dress} / Gold Belt - J Crew / Metallic Boat Shoes - Sperry {birthday present from my parents!}

By now, you know I’m not afraid of snipping and stitching my clothes until they’re just right. I loved the lacy fabric of my prized Rodarte for Target halter dress, but I only wore it as a dress once; I much preferred to engineer it into a skirt. So, I enlisted the help of a professional to make the change permanent, and it just might be one of my favorite things now. (Aside from my new silvery gold Sperrys - the most adorable and comfortable shoes ever.)
